The work to create new markets for admission is the most daunting marketing challenge facing independent schools. Often, the process of conducting the necessary research is too costly for one school. However, the project price can be reduced when a group of schools agrees to share the expense. In addition to reducing per participant cost, schools acting in concert also build awareness for independent school education in their broader community.
The Baker Group has conducted research for groups of schools who have a variety of shared interests and demographic characteristics such as school type, overlap of mission, and demographic reach. We begin our process by organizing the strengths and experience of the schools, and by combining information with research that has already been conducted by regional and national organizations like NAIS.
The next layer of our work includes defining the components of research and marketing necessary to assess, define and expand the markets of the independent school collaborative. As a dynamic leadership team, we can help coordinate and maximize the outreach and market penetration in a particular region for school collaboratives.
